Meet Dr. Stef Gatica
Dr. Stef Gatica, DNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and the primary provider at our dermatology clinic and spa. At our Ankeny location near Des Moines, IA, Dr. Gatica goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional results while providing a safe and uplifting treatment experience.
Bilingual in Spanish and English and with nearly 30 years of medical experience, Dr. Gatica is devoted to educating patients and fellow providers on the latest and best treatments and techniques. Her passion for creating a positive difference in each of her patients’ lives is at the heart of all she does here at Revive.
Training & Experience
Dr. Gatica has been in the medical field for almost 3 decades in a variety of settings, including the emergency room, urgent care, pediatrics, aesthetics, and dermatology. After obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Graceland University, she continued her education at the University of Alabama, where she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
Dr. Gatica was fortunate to receive a 3-month dermatology residency in West Des Moines with a prominent dermatologist. She then managed a medical and cosmetic dermatology clinic in Beaverdale for more than 7 years, where she was the sole provider. She has been doing aesthetic injections for 18 years.
After leaving a robust practice to spend more time with her family, Dr. Gatica began to teach online for Walden University. There, she soon moved up to the Family Nurse Practitioner Program Coordinator position. Today, Dr. Gatica brings a wealth of experience to Revive, where she dedicates her time to teaching others and creating the refined results her clients want.
A Commitment to Education
When she isn’t working with clients, Dr. Gatica spends her time training injectors at Revive, as well as traveling to many different states. She is often sought after to be a guest trainer. As the only Allergan® trainer in the state of Iowa, she trains providers from all over the country in the latest, safest, and most effective aesthetic injection techniques.

Outside of the Office
Dr. Gatica has been married for 30 years and has 3 children: Jayden, Devin, and Haley. She spends most of her free time traveling, watching softball, and enjoying her family. She begins and ends most of her days relaxing with her loved ones on her patio, taking in views of the beautiful Iowa skies.
