Tired of plucking those chin hairs? Do you feel like you have hard time telling if your boyfriend or husband is related to a gorilla with all of that back and chest hair?? If so, you are not alone! Time to join millions of other people and try out laser hair removal!
What is laser hair removal anyway? Laser hair removal should actually be called laser hair reduction. While it is very effective at reducing the amount of hair in any given area, we will continue to produce new hair follicles for the rest of our lives. A "laser" is actually a light that picks up the pigment of dark hair follicles, travels down the shaft of it and destroys the follicle...if the follicle is in an active growth phase. This treatment does not work on gray, red, or blonde hair. This is the reason why multiple treatments of hair removal are necessary.
Who's the best candidate for this treatment? Skin types 1-3, possible 4. The darker the skin, the more likely the light will be attracted to the skin color and superficial burning is possible. If you have darker skin (types 4 or 5) we would have to do a test patch first to make sure the treatment would be safe for you. Dark hair is easier to remove than lighter hair, and that is because of the attraction of light to pigment. For this reason, you should not have any tanned skin treated. It is important to be honest about the amount of sun or tanning bed exposure you have, including spray tans.
How many treatments are necessary? This all depends on the type of hair, color, skin type, and area of the body. The face is usually 6-8 treatments while the body is 4-6. These treatments should be spaced out every 4-6 weeks on the face and every 8-12 weeks on the body.
So what's the best laser? Well I have used different lasers in the past, but in my quest to find the best equipment, I discovered that Sciton's Forever Bare BBL is the most effective. We have the ability to treat very large areas extremely quickly, and with less pain. Here is a link for a video about the procedure.
What to expect during the treatment...
At Revive Clinic and Spa we offer packages for multiple treatments. Be sure to come to the clinic with the area shaven the night before. No plucking, waxing or tweezing the hairs for 3 weeks prior. Stop using retinoids 2 weeks prior. We can't wait to see you!
Have you ever thought to yourself that you would love bigger, fuller lips but were too afraid to do it? Now is the time to check it out. We specialize in natural results, and it's never been more affordable. Our favorite cosmetic fillers comes from the Juvederm family. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid, or a naturally occurring sugar that is found in the body. By placing it in the lips, or cheeks, water is drawn into those areas, making them fuller. Usually, Juvederm Ultra XC with lidocaine is used for the lips. Another newer filler is Volbella, also the Allergan family. It is really used to define the vermillion border, and to smooth out the wrinkles within the lip itself. The vermillion border is the line between the lip and facial skin, and when we are young, this border creates a white/light line and almost a shadow above the lip. As we age, this border becomes less defined and then wrinkles between the nose and lips can develop. Replacing the volume in this area is so subtle, yet amazing! Another part of the lip to evaluate is the philtrum. This little area between the nose and upper lip can flatten out with age as well, so refilling those lines can really make a difference.
Maybe you were thinking you wanted Kylie Jenner lips? We can do those too:) During your free consultation we will find out what is important to you, and make sure you leave a happy client!
Don't forget your cheeks! As we age, this area of the face starts to "collapse" for lack of a better term. Voluma is used as a "liquid facelift" without undergoing surgery. By building it back up with a product like Voluma, the beauty pyramid will magically reappear. If you are thinking that you may want to fill your nasolabial folds, or your "parentheses," think again. This is what we loved to do in the early 2000's, but we have learned that by lifting the cheeks ever so slightly, the nasolabial folds tend to disappear. Patients are amazed that the procedure only takes about 15 minutes.
Fillers can be used in so many ways. Rebuilding chins, noses, jawlines, filling in temples, adding volume to earlobes so that those diamonds can stand out! Call us today to schedule your free consultation. Usually you can have the procedure the same day. Most patients can leave the clinic and go right out in public without anyone noticing. Of course there are risks to consider, including bruising and swelling. We can't wait to see you!

Back in July of this year, I was approached by a good friend of mine who had a dream and vision to open up a new Clinic and Spa. For many years this same idea has been in the back of my mind, but with kids at home and a really busy lifestyle filled with traveling and teaching, I did not think this was possible.
Fast forward to December 1, 2017 and we opened our beautiful doors! Amanda and I have found a wonderful team of excellent providers that are so excited about doing procedures and making our clients feel wonderful! We have researched the best of the best equipment, with proven, visible results, and are very proud to offer those things to our clients.
We offer many aesthetic services and treat multiple conditions. We have equipment and products to help clients with wrinkles, sun spots, thinning skin, facial volume loss, unwanted fat, pore reduction and texture,
We are also very excited to offer the best weight reduction medical program there is, Ideal Protein. This is not a high protein, high fat, low carb diet. It is very balanced, and has adequate amounts of protein, little fat, and 40 -80 gms of carbs daily. Everyone at our clinic is excited to be on the program and I will post some of our success numbers in another blog!
We are a medical clinic as well, but our focus is on aesthetics and weight management. If you would like to be seen for acne, rosacea, cysts, hyperhidrosis and other dermatological conditions, I am happy to see you. We do not accept insurance at this clinic, but you can certainly use FSA or HSA money to pay for your visit. We offer a low cost alternative. We will refer all of our clients to reputable dermatology providers if biopsies or more medical care is needed, simply based on cost effectiveness for our clients.
We can't wait to see you, your family and friends. Referrals are very much appreciated.
